Kinnisvaralaenude väljastaja Northern Rock (NRK) on saanud lisagarantiisid ning UK valitsus lubas garanteerida hoiustajate vara, mille peale on aktsia pea kümnendiku kallinenud. Samas ei maksa unustada aktsia kivina kukkumist viimastel päevadel. Põhjaõngitsemine on tihti mäng tulega.
NRK on BBC uudistes nr1 teema.

Põhilise aluse umbusu tekkeks on Hansapangapoolsed telefonikõned minu mobiilile.
The Wall Street Journal reports Northern Rock plc is in the early stages of selling itself, potentially to investors who target distressed assets, according to people familiar with the situation, after it experienced a rare run on deposits by customers. Selling Northern Rock, possibly in pieces and at bargain prices, could wipe out the bank's equity and leave shareholders with little to show for their investment.
Sept. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Northern Rock Plc credit-default swaps dropped after the U.K. mortgage lender rescued by the government said it's in takeover discussions. Aktsia +7.5%.
Just days after Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Money emerged as a contender alongside potential bids from private equity groups JC Flowers and Cerberus, JP Morgan said in a note to clients: "There is close to zero value in Northern Rock's equity... with it effectively being eaten up by a combination of higher finance costs, investment write-offs and restructuring charges."
The sentiment was echoed by Colin McLean, managing director at independent investor SVM Asset Management. He said: "The reality is shareholders will get very little. There is no need to reward shareholders. Either there will be a bid for the whole company or the financing will be sorted out and the share price left to wither on the vine."
Virgin Money chief executive Jayne-Anne Gadhia told BBC Radio 4's Today programme yesterday that the Northern Rock brand was "dead", even though JC Flowers is considering resuscitating it for mortgage customers.
