Aasta vahetumiseni on jäänud veel mõned nädalad ning paljuoodatud aastalõpu ralli ootus on vahetunud lootusega, et ehk näeme turgudel kosumist siis vähemalt jõulude eel ja järel, kui pessimistid on puhkusel ja investorid kulutavad boonuseid ning positsioneerivad oma portfelle maksimaalseteks maksusoodustusteks. Aga siiani on Euroopa uudised levitamas hirmu, et siit saab alguse sügavam globaalne majanduslik jahtumine ja vaadates eilset müügisurvet tooraineturgudel, siis pole väga imestada, miks ka aktsiaturgudel on ostjad loobunud üritamast vastuvoolu ujuda.
Täna on tulemas üsna korralikult makrot – potentsiaalne võimalus pöörata veidi rohkem tähelepanu sellele, kuidas tegelikult läheb majanduses. Hommikul avaldatud HSBC töötleva tööstuse PMI indeks jäi detsembris jätkuvalt alla 50 punkti, kuid võrreldes novembri 47,7 punkti tasemega näidati siiski väikest paranemist tasemele 49 punkti. Ehk antud sektori aktiivsus on alanemas, kuid seda aeglasemas tempos võrreldes novembriga.
Kell 11.00 kuuleme millised on siiani detsembris olnud trendid eurotsooni töötlevas tööstuses. Kui näeme veidikenegi paranemist, siis ma usun, et see võib olla piisavaks katalüsaatoriks positiivsemale sentimendile turgudel.
Kell 11.30 raporteeritakse Suurbritannia novembri jaemüügi muutus, kell 12.00 eurotsooni novembri lõplik tarbijahinnaindeksi muutus, kell 15.30 USA möödunud nädala töötuabiraha taotluste arv, Empire State töötleva tööstuse detsembri küsitlus, 16.15 USA novembri tööstustoodang ja kell 17.00 Philadelphia Fedi detsembri küsitlus.
USA indeksite futuurid on kauplemas 0,1% jagu miinuspoolel ning Euroopa avanemas üsna nulli lähedal.

Oma hiljuti lõppenud kvartali tulemused raporteerib enne USA turgude avanemist FedEx, kes on viimastes kommentaarides jäänud globaalse majanduse suhtes võrdlemisi positiivseks ja kindlasti soovitakse täna kuulda, et seisukoht pole muutnud. Peale turgu aga avalikustab oma majandustulemused Research in Motion.

Morgan Stanley on pannud kokku nimekirja 50 ettevõttest, mida täna osta ning kuni 2015. aastani hoida. Antud pikaajaliste ideede puhul on oluliseks argumendiks ärimudeli kvaliteet ja jätkusuutlikkus, mis võiks vastu pidada ka keerulisemates majanduslikes oludes (ettevõte suudab säilitada konkurentsivõime, hinnastamise võime, kuluefektiivsuse ja äritegevuse kasvu).
