Egiptus-päevakajastused ja pikemad mõjud

GDP oli 2009 andmetel 216 bn USD ja eelarve defitsiit ca 17 bn USD ehk 7.9% GDP-st. Pigem on Wikipedias valed andmed.

"If I could go and kill some Americans before I die, then maybe my life would have had some meaning.”

Umbes 20 eestlast siiski tuleb lennuki pardale. -HS
Lennuk väljub Soomest homme kell 10.
Urmae Paeti järgi on Kairo ja Alexandria piirkondades umbes 50 eestlast.
Optimistic Egyptians say free elections, if they ever happen, would produce a vibrant democracy.
Pessimists say that the removal of the police state would lead to chaos - which would be exploited by Egypt's jihadi groups. These have been suppressed ruthlessly by the Mubarak regime. The country's only properly organised mass political movement outside the ruling party is the Muslim Brotherhood, and it would do very well in any free election.
Unlike the jihadis, it does not believe it is at war with the West. It is conservative, relatively moderate and non-violent. But it is highly critical of Western policy in the Middle East. - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12325128
10:54am Security officials say authorities have shut down all roads and public transportation to Cairo, where tens of thousands of people are converging to demand the ouster of President Mubarak.
Hiina tsentseerib uudiseid Egiptusest.

Al Jazeera English's shot panning across Tahrir Square confirms that there are more people there than at any point in the crisis. A correspondent: "There is hardly a place to walk."

An announcement by loudspeaker tells the crowd that more than 1 million are now in the square.
Lisa AlJazeera pealkirju (hetke pealkirjad online saates):
-Army arrests "saboteurs and thugs" infiltrating the demonstrators
-Hundreds of thousands of protesters have gathered in Cairo´s Tahrir square

Ehk juba sadu tuhandeid protestijaid.

Varsti nad arvatavasti hakkavad liikuma mõõda riikliku televisiooni ning kuni presidendi paleesse.
